A Farewell to Retiring Chef Anderson

Chef Anderson poses with DMACC President Rob Denson, State Representative Rod Taylor and Jim Stick at the Iowa Capitol.

As the school year comes to a close we start to say goodbye to retiring teachers and staff here at DMACC, one of those retiring this year is Executive Chef Robert Anderson. Chef Anderson has taught at DMACC for 43 years, and this year he received the L’Ordre des Palmes Academiques award from the French Republic. Chef Anderson is one of 99 American chefs to receive the award, and the only active chef here in Iowa. Culinary student Tyler Konzen says that Chef Anderson always had a story for everything and he has truly made the culinary program what it is today. Konzen also said that Chef Anderson’s experience was almost overwhelming. Anderson has touched the lives of many students here at DMACC, thank you Chef Anderson!
